Story as a Neutral Third: Using Young Adult Lit to Teach Complexity in Global Education
April 15, 2026
12:00 PM
This faculty lecture will give colleagues a brief landscape of Young Adult Literature, its cultural position, and offer a repeatable discussion structure (norms + prompts) using foundational YA excerpts/scenes to cultivate learning complexity in a global context.
The discussion will include education abroad use-cases (identity, belonging, power, censorship contexts) and leave attendees with plug-and-play prompts for pre-departure advising, re-entry, and classroom reflection.
