AIFS Abroad E-learning: Connected from Anywhere – Making Hybrid Internships Truly Global
International internships now take many forms—traditional in-person, fully remote, and hybrid—and AIFS Abroad has observed that hybrid placements can offer unique opportunities for students to integrate professional experience, academic study, and cultural immersion. By balancing on-site and remote work with coursework in the local language or culture, students gain flexibility while deepening their connection to both work and their host city. In this session, we’ll share stories from hybrid placements and guide a discussion on how these structures can actually deepen students’ engagement, learning, and sense of belonging abroad. We’ll also explore strategies to ensure hybrid experiences complement traditional internship models, support student reflection and wellbeing, and foster meaningful career and global learning outcomes.
