AIFS Study Abroad in Summer 2020

  • 2-, 4- or 8-week summer program in Madrid, Spain
  • Four program options to choose from:
    • Hispanic Studies,
    • Spanish Plus
    • Internship
    • Sports Management
  • Open to college freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors
  • No previous Spanish language study required except for the Internship Program which requires minimum Spanish level B1/202 (completed)
  • Minimum 2.50 GPA
  • Program fee includes tuition, housing, meals, excursions and cultural activities, day trips, and more. Optional AIFS Flight package available.
  • Up to 6 credits for the Hispanic or Spanish Plus Programs; up to 9 credits for the Internship Program; 3 credits for the Sports Management Program
  • Courses offered in art, business, communications, history, literature, mangement, marketing, Spanish language
  • AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
  • Comprehensive Insurance and assistance package
  • Transcripts are issued by the Universidad Nebrija. One official copy will be sent to the student’s home institution on completion of the program.

Internships available


Visas not required for U.S. citizens for less than a 3-month stay. Non-U.S. citizens are responsible for obtaining a visa as required.

My interest in international and cultural education began when I was an undergraduate at Pace University in New York. As a research assistant, my work focused on ethnicity, race, gender and culture, as well as local environmental issues. I continued to pursue my interests in cultural education by studying abroad with AIFS during my junior year in London, England. I loved the experience so much that I decided to finish my degree in England and I graduated from Richmond, The American International University in London with a bachelor's degree. After graduating, I began my professional career in international education as an Admissions Officer with AIFS in November 2006. In 2012, I received my master's degree from Fordham University in New York, New York.
