Overview

Spend a summer studying and traveling through iconic cities in Europe with AIFS! Spend 5 nights in London, 4 nights in Paris, 2 nights in Nice, 2 nights in Milan, 2 nights in Venice, 4 nights in Florence and 3 nights in Rome studying the masterpieces of art history on the European Art and Culture program.

Academics

AIFS Abroad offers a unique global educational experience for students on this program, with the following academic options available:

Academic credit for the program is awarded by Fairfield University. Fairfield University is a private Jesuit university founded in 1942 in Fairfield, Connecticut, well known for their commitment to international education. Fairfield is a fully accredited university and member of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. 

In 2020 Fairfield and AIFS partnered to develop a school of record relationship that will allow academic credit to be available for both Fairfield and non-Fairfield students.

Living Abroad

Day 1Optional overnight flight from the U.S. to London* 
Day 2Arrive in London. Transfers for group flights. Rest of day free. 
Day 3Morning orientation followed by a sightseeing tour with a professional guide. See London’s famous sights including Piccadilly Circus in the heart of the West End, the Houses of Parliament on the banks of the Thames and Buckingham Palace.
Day 4Morning class. Afternoon visit to the British Museum. 
Day 5Morning class. Afternoon visit to the Tate Modern.
Day 6Morning class. Afternoon visit to the National Gallery.
Day 7Transfer to Paris by Eurostar and check into hotel. Balance of day free. 
Day 8Morning class. Afternoon visit to the D’Orsay Museum.

Day 17Morning visit to the Guggenheim Museum, which holds an important collection of modern art, including works by Picasso, Miró, Kandinsky and Pollock. Afternoon transfer to Florence by train.

Day 20Morning Class. Afternoon visit to the Accademia Gallery, home of Michelangelo’s David.

Optional Flight Package

Students can select an optional transportation package for all AIFS programs. Students who choose to book their own flights should meet up with group at the program location and will need to make their own ground transportation arrangements.
