Study Abroad in Florence: Cultural Excursions

Optional Excursion to Venice (3 days - $545)

Arrive in Venice, a city that takes your breath away and settle into your hotel. AIFS staff will then take you out to explore with your included vaporetto pass giving you access to the boat service up and down the canals.

The following day, take a guided walking tour including the Doges’ Palace, Bridge of Sighs and St. Mark’s Square.

On the final day, explore at your own pace. Why not travel to Murano to see the famous glass or climb the bell tower in Piazza San Marco before we head back to Florence in the afternoon.

Optional Excursion to Rome (3 days - $545)

Travel to Rome, a city with over 2,000 years of history to explore, and settle into your hotel. AIFS staff will take you on a walking tour to discover the historical center including the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona, where you can relax and enjoy your first evening in the “Eternal City”.

During the weekend local guides will introduce you to Rome’s history with visits to St. Peter’s Basilica at the heart of the Vatican, as well as the Vatican Museums where you can admire Michelangelo’s stunning frescoes inside the Sistine Chapel and the magnificent Raphael rooms. There will also be the opportunity to visit the impressive Colosseum and the Roman Forum before you return to Florence late afternoon.

For both excursions, the fee includes transportation, accommodations, breakfast, sightseeing and entrances as indicated. Dinner and lunch is not included. A minimum of 15 students is required for the optional excursions to run.
