DEREE – The American College of Greece

DEREE–The American College of Greece is the oldest, largest American-sponsored college in Europe. Located on a stunningly picturesque hillside at the edge of Athens, the 64 acre park-like campus offers an ideal setting to study in Greece.

The state-of-the-art fitness facilities on campus include a fitness center with a full range of fitness equipment, an Olympic-size swimming pool, soccer field and track, basketball arena, climbing wall and tennis courts. These facilities were used as the official training base of the 2004 U.S. Olympic team.

Students are taught in modern classrooms and have access to one of the largest private libraries in Europe and a dedicated on-campus health center.

Academic Overview

Admissions requirements Open to high school graduates, college freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA (lower GPAs will be considered on a case by case basis.)

Attendance is required to receive full credit. Students exceeding the permitted number of unexcused absences may lose all or partial credit.

Credit hours are equal to American credits based on one credit for a minimum of 15 classroom hours plus home study. Classes are taught Monday through Friday.

Grades No AIFS participant is permitted to take a course without receiving a letter grade. Pass/Fail grade options are not available.

Transcripts are issued by DEREE – The American College of Greece. An official copy of the transcript will be mailed to your home college or university.
