Choosing the Right City for You

London

Spend time in the prestigious Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, surrounded by places of extraordinary historical and cultural interest, such as the Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Science Museum, Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Palace, former home to Diana, Princess of Wales and now the London residence of Prince William, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and their children. As a major political, financial and cultural center London is one of the world’s most thriving and cosmopolitan cities. Home to a multitude of museums and galleries, concert halls, theaters, historic buildings and a host of beautiful urban parks, London has something for everyone.

Kensington’s location was the main reason I chose to study through AIFS and it did not disappoint. High Street Kensington has so many stores and all the best cafés for studying or catching up with new friends. Best of all, the beautiful and inspiring Hyde Park is a couple of streets away and you’re practically neighbors with the royals at Kensington Palace! There were so many times where I would find out something cool was happening in an hour and because of the location I never missed anything.

Thank you, London, for being a place where I can just walk around and think. I will miss hopping on the Tube and traveling as far as I wanted to explore, the beautiful food, culture and sites in this gorgeous city. London is one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. I will miss its friendly people, and stopping at every possible phone booth to take a picture.

AIFS was such an incredible experience. With London being such a central location, I was able to travel to places I never thought I would and experience cultures I hadn’t been exposed to. It is because of my fantastic experience with AIFS that I returned to London for graduate school. I am forever grateful for the life lessons learned and the lifelong friendships made!

I loved London so much that I had to go back again and explore the city even more. I still haven’t gotten my fill of London. I might just have to move there. Even though I absolutely love London, I still want to travel to other places around the world. I love learning about new cultures and exploring new landscapes. AIFS has helped me do just that and I recommend it to anyone and everyone. There is so much out there in this world. I truly believe everyone should study abroad to experience new things and open their minds.

Study abroad has already brought me so much. You’ll grow and see yourself in a whole new light. You will be encompassed by the rich culture of your destination and be intrigued to see it all. The hardest part is just making the decision to go, and then stepping on that plane. But after you do… you’ll be so glad you did.

Never would I have thought that I’d find a second home across the pond! Studying a semester abroad has granted me the opportunity of a true global and cultural education. I left London with a newfound confidence in myself and desire to return in the near future. In just four months, I was able to visit thirteen countries and eighteen cities! Studying abroad has been and will be the best part of my college experience, in addition to being something I wish for all college students to partake in.

London was such an amazing experience that I could not recommend highly enough. The internship placement was perfect, the housing was centrally located and very safe, and the team in London could not have been nicer. Gregg in particular was constantly planning fun and unique trips for us that helped us get to know the city and feel supported throughout the program. If you’re considering studying or working abroad than definitely or this location at the top of your list. Such an amazing experience and so worth it!

This was an amazing experience and opportunity to grow professionally and personally. Shani and Gregg were absolutely amazing in coordination this program as well as providing support during the program. Gregg offered many unique weekend adventures that provide an opportunity to do more than just work or study. Shani was so helpful in making sure all the legal and visa related things were taken care of. This alleviated a lot of stress for me personally and I could not be more grateful. I have minimal complaints and would certainly recommend this program to others.
