Study Abroad in Greece: Cultural Excursions

Optional excursion to Delphi and Arachova (day trip - $95 )

Visit the ruins of one of classical Greece’s most famous sites on a day trip from Athens.

Delphi was once considered the center of the Earth and the universe and played a hugely important role in the classical Greek world. You will tour the archaeological site, see the treasures in the museum and later visit the Temple of Apollo.

The day trip also includes a stop at Arachova, famous for its bright multi-colored carpets.

Fee includes transportation, entrance fees and sightseeing as indicated. Meals are not included.

Optional excursion to Ancient Corinth, Nafplion and Epidaurus (day trip - $95)

The ancient market city of Corinth is home to the Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean to the Ionian Sea.

After exploring Corinth, the tour will continue to the pretty city port of Nafplion where you can try climbing the 999 steps of the castle for an impressive view of the old harbor.

Finally, visit Epidaurus, boasting the largest and best preserved ancient theater and where plays are still held, taking advantage of the brilliant acoustics.

Fee includes transportation, entrance fees and sightseeing as indicated. Meals are not included.

Optional excursion to Rome, Italy (4 days - $745)

After the end of the program in Athens, continue your exploration of the ancient world by spending 4 days taking in the sights of Rome.

Fly from Athens to Rome and check into your hotel. The following day take a city tour including a visit to Castel Sant’ Angelo, St. Peter’s Basilica and St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City. The next day visit the Vatican Museums including The Sistine Chapel where you will see Michelangelo’s breathtaking frescoes. In the afternoon, take in the sights of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.

The excursion also includes two lectures: “Rome through the ages” and “Classical mythology”.

Fee includes airport transfer, flight from Athens to Rome, bed and breakfast accommodation and sightseeing as indicated with a local guide. Lunch and dinner are not included.

Students must enroll and pay for this excursion by April 15. Students who apply after the deadline may enroll subject to availability. If a minimum enrollment of 10 is not achieved, the tour may be cancelled. Once paid for in the U.S., optional excursions are non-refundable.
