Born and raised in Northern California, Karen moved to Galway, Ireland in 2018 with her family, in search of a slower pace of life. After graduating from California State University, Chico, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television production, working for a talent agency and a production company. Eventually, she segued into public relations, working for both large firms as well as her own boutique company for many years. During this time, she also planned and executed numerous large and small scale events, including red carpet premieres, Oscar and Emmy parties, product launch events and activations, and even weekend long pub crawls. At AIFS Abroad in Galway, she is both the location and placement coordinator and loves helping to find the perfect job for each student, taking them on excursions and cultural events, and sharing her love of Ireland with them.
Studied abroad for a semester in Brighton, England Is an amateur photographer with photos featured frequently by Irish tourism social media pages Has traveled to almost 20 countries in Europe, as well as Australia and Costa Rica Has a handful of TV and film credits on iMDB and can be seen as an extra in the indie film “Seeing Other People” Helps manage and coach son’s soccer team.
