Bonjour! "Hello" in French, one of the four languages I am fluent in, along with English, German and Slovak. You have quite the experience awaiting you in Paris; from the cultural activities offered, the number of museums to visit and the various people you'll meet, it is sure to be an amazing time.

I studied for three separate MA degrees in Paris and Grenoble and have lived in four different countries. I consider myself a "global citizen" and am looking forward to helping you to adjust to your time abroad. As your Resident Director, I am here to advise, listen, help and encourage you to make your stay in Paris a wonderful experience that you will always remember.

My door is always open to meet you.

The Resident Director provides academic advice, introduces you to the community and handles communication with the University.

AIFS Campus Staff with First Aid Training

Because health and safety are top priorities at AIFS, at least one member of the staff at this campus has taken a first aid course in order to be available to help any student until a doctor or nurse can provide help. This is just one of many services that we provide to our students.

Housing and Meals

Homestays are located within the city of Paris and about 30-40 minutes by metro from classes and the AIFS office. You will have a key and can come and go as you wish. There is privacy for study, yet a certain amount of contact with the Parisian hosts. Students will have the use of the bedroom, bathroom and limited use of the kitchen to store and prepare their own food and eat their own dinner. French style breakfast is provided every day and students have 3 dinners with their host family.

For a supplement of $695 students can choose to stay in a communal residence in central Paris. You will share a double or triple room with another AIFS student. You will have breakfast every day and a meal card to use in the residence cafeteria for either lunch or dinner 5 days a week. Self-service laundry facilities are provided for use at your own expense.

Standard Wi-Fi access is provided in all accommodations. Homestays and the residence are in close proximity to a metro station, which allows easy access to the rest of Paris.

Cultural Activities

Learning does not begin or end in the classroom. To help you get a true taste of French culture, cultural activities including an excursion are inclusive in your program fee. Activities and events will include:

  • Welcome dinner in a typical French restaurant
  • Guided bus city tour
  • Visit to Opéra Garnier
  • Bateaux-Mouches boat trip along the Seine River
  • Château of Versailles excursion
