AIFS Study Abroad in Summer 2017

  • 4-, 6-, 8-, 10- or 12-week summer program in Granada, Spain
  • Open to high school graduates, college freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors
  • No previous Spanish language study required
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA required
  • Program fee includes tuition, housing, meals, excursions and cultural activities, day trips, and more. Optional AIFS Flight package available.
  • 4-week program students earn up to 6.5 semester credits; 6-week students earn up to 10 semester credits, 8-week students earn up to 13 semester credits, 10-week students earn up to 15 semester credits, 12-week students earn up to 18 semester credits
  • Courses offered in art, business Spanish, geography, history, literature, religion, sociology, Spanish language and Intensive Spanish Language Program, Spanish Language and Culture Program
  • The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
  • Comprehensive Insurance and assistance package
  • Transcripts issued by the University of Granada. One official copy will be mailed to the student’s home institution.

Visas

Visas not required for U.S. citizens for less than a 3-month stay. Non-U.S. citizens are responsible for obtaining a visa as required.

My interest in international and cultural education began when I was an undergraduate at Pace University in New York. As a research assistant, my work focused on ethnicity, race, gender and culture, as well as local environmental issues. I continued to pursue my interests in cultural education by studying abroad with AIFS during my junior year in London, England. I loved the experience so much that I decided to finish my degree in England and I graduated from Richmond, The American International University in London with a bachelor's degree. After graduating, I began my professional career in international education as an Admissions Officer with AIFS in November 2006. In 2012, I received my master's degree from Fordham University in New York, New York.
