Michelle Ortiz is an Enrollment Coordinator at AIFS Abroad. She graduated with a dual B.A. in International Relations and Spanish Language and Cultures, and a minor in Journalism from California State University. She studied abroad at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in the Spanish capital where she also was able to tutor English to refugee children. Upon her return, she was able to study and work in various international opportunities like working with indigenous Mayan communities in Yucatan, Mexico. And conducting award-winning research for her work of “Love Stories of Boñar” while working with the Spanish Red Cross in Northern Spain. She has traveled to more than 25 countries. Her love for international education came from her personal experiences and her previous job at the Miami University of Art and Design where she helped guide and traveled to recruit international students. You can find her at your local thrift store searching for cool gems from the ’60s and watching reruns of anything Anthony Bourdain.
