AIFS in Maynooth Resident Director, Summer Program

AIFS students have access to a local Resident Director who provides advice and support throughout the program and will arrange social and cultural events. The AIFS Resident Director for this program will be appointed several months in advance, at which time his/her name and contact information will be posted here.

The Resident Director provides academic advice, introduces you to the community and handles communication with the University.

Meals

  • You will receive a cooked breakfast Monday through Friday in the University cafeterias. For additional meals students can do their own cooking or can purchase low-cost meals at the cafeterias on campus. A welcome dinner will be included as part of the orientation activities, as well as some meals on excursions.

Transportation

It is less than a 10 minute walk from the housing to all classrooms, libraries, shops and public transport links. Frequent commuter trains to central Dublin take 40 minutes and cost about $8 round-trip (and cheaper with a student card).

Cultural Activities

The Maynooth summer program is designed to give students a well-rounded experience and a true taste of Irish life and culture. AIFS students can access a wide variety of extracurricular clubs and societies, events and excursions over the course of the summer including an Irish farm experience and tours around Ireland. Your AIFS Resident Director will also be a wealth of information about things to see and do to make the most of your study abroad experience.

The University has a swimming pool as well as numerous playing fields which cater for outdoor sports such as soccer, rugby, hurling and camogie.
