Study Abroad in Berlin, Germany

Program Fees - January Term 2019

AIFS All-Inclusive Program Fee: $3,795

  • Tuition 3 semester credits. Due to the length of the program, we strongly recommend that students take only one 3-credit course. In exceptional cases and with the authorization of college advisors it may be possible to take two courses for a total of 6 credits. A supplemental fee of approximately $725 is charged if students select the additional course.
  • Housing in a University apartment. Two or three students share an apartment in a combination of double and single rooms. The apartments have a shared living room, kitchen and bathroom.
  • Meals A pre-loaded meal card to subsidize the cost of purchasing meals in the university cafeterias.
  • Transportation Pass that includes all public transport such as the subway, bus or city tram, day and night, 7 days a week.
  • Cultural and Social Activities visits such as the German Bundestag, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, Berlin Wall Memorial, ice-skating and a day trip to Potsdam will be included.
  • Welcome Reception and Orientation to help you get to know your classmates better, familiarize you with the local area and advise you about living in Berlin.
  • Comprehensive Insurance and Assistance Package
  • Personalized Assistance by the AIFS Admissions Team in the U.S. to help you prepare for your study abroad experience.
  • Pre-Departure Resources including an information handbook and online AIFS account to help you manage your application and planning.
  • On-site Resident Director and Support Staff to help with any questions or advice you may need while in Berlin. AIFS operates a 24-hour emergency telephone service so that local staff can always be reached in an emergency situation.
  • Official Transcript On completion of your program a transcript issued by Humboldt–Universität zu Berlin will be sent to your home institution.

Optional Components

Please note fee does not include the non-refundable $95 application fee and $250 refundable damage deposit. Students who do not take the optional AIFS Flight Package are responsible for making their way to and from campus by the scheduled program dates.

For your convenience, AIFS will arrange your round-trip airfare (including all fuel surcharges, taxes and fees), meet you at the arrival airport(s) and provide transportation to and from the program site on scheduled arrival and departure dates. Prices for this option include:
