AIFS Program at a Glance - Summer 2017

  • 8-week summer program in Istanbul, Turkey
  • Open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors
  • No previous Turkish language study required
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA required
  • Courses taught in English
  • Program fee includes tuition, housing, meal allowance, excursions and cultural activities, day trips, and more. Optional AIFS Flight package available.
  • Earn up to 10 semester credits
  • Courses offered in Full Curriculum program including STEM courses: art, business, computer science, economics, education, engineering, environmental studies, film, history, languages, literature, mathematics, philosophy, physical sciences, politics, psychology, sociology, technology
  • The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
  • Comprehensive Insurance and assistance package
  • Transcripts issued by Boğaziçi University. One copy will be sent to the studentís home institution.


Students are required to purchase a 90-day visa upon arrival in Istanbul.

I grew up in a small town in Vermont and attended the University of Vermont, very close to home. Spending a semester in Vienna during my junior year opened my eyes to the world and ignited a passion for travel, languages and cultural exchange that I still have today. I graduated from UVM with a BA in Economics, and then saved all summer so I could backpack around Europe for five weeks with a friend. Shortly after that, I lived and worked in Sweden for a year. I have continued to travel and soak up other cultures and languages whenever I can. I truly believe that studying abroad changed the course of my life and made me who I am today. As an Admissions Officer with AIFS, I am thrilled to be helping students have similarly life-changing experiences abroad!
