Lisbon is famous for its sunny weather, colorful buildings, Fado music, and friendly locals. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe, dating back to 205 BC. It was built on top of 7 hills and a Roman city.
Beautiful architecture is abundant in Lisbon, blending historic styles like Manueline and Baroque with modern and contemporary influences. The city’s black-and-white patterned stones, known as Portuguese pavement, adorn sidewalks and squares. Lisbon is also home to UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Jerónimos Monastery and the Tower of Belém, both dating back to the early 16th century.
Lisbon’s cuisine is a rich blend of fresh seafood, traditional stews, and one of the world’s top-secret recipes, the Pastéis de Nata, a sweet, creamy dessert with a flaky crust, adored by locals and tourists alike.
