Raphaela was born and raised in Salzburg, before moving to the UK to obtain a master’s degree
in literature. She has worked as a teacher and tutor for English as a second language and knows
the struggles of studying abroad and learning a foreign language from both a teacher and a
student perspective. She is also a researcher in the field of Literature and Popular Culture
Studies, in which she is also pursuing her PhD. Raphaela initially joined AIFS as a lecturer for
literature classes and is excited to welcome students in Salzburg as Academic Director.
