Study Abroad in Belfast: Cultural Excursions

London, England (2 nights)

Included only for students on the optional AIFS Flight Package

Get to know your fellow students before traveling to campus and take a sightseeing tour with a professional guide who will point out some of Londonís famous landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London. You will also have free time to visit museums, see a play or stroll in Londonís beautiful parks.

Includes accommodations, breakfast and sightseeing as indicated. Lunch and dinner are not included.

Dublin Walking Tour (half day)

Introductory walking tour of Dublin with a visit to the Trinity College Library and the Book of Kells exhibit.

Wicklow and Glendalough (full day)

Included in program fee

A full day excursion by private coach to the beautiful Wicklow mountains with a visit to the monastic settlement at Glendalough.

Belfast City Tour (half day)

Included in program fee

Introductory tour of Belfast city center.

Causeway Coast and the Antrim Glens (day trip)

Included in program fee

The drive north along the River Bann and then east past the Giantís Causeway and down the marine drive follows 60 miles of the most beautiful coast you could imagine.

Ulster American Folk Park (day trip)

Included in program fee

Immerse yourself in the world famous story of Irish emigration at the museum that brings it to life. Follow the emigrant trail as you journey from the thatched cottages of Ulster, on board a full scale emigrant sailing ship leading to the log cabins of the American Frontier and meet an array of costumed characters on your way with traditional crafts to show, tales to tell and food to share.

Derry/Londonderry (day trip)

Visit the historical city of Derry/Londonderry including a visit to local museums, the Guildhall, a tour of the murals and the City walls.

Game of Thrones (day trip)

Included in program fee

A full-day immersive excursion focusing on some of the many Northern Ireland locations used in the filming of the hugely successful television drama, Games of Thrones. This Winterfell themed tour will include a ferry to Strangford to visit Castle Ward, aka Winterfell, a morning trek to one of Walder Freyís Twins and Robbís Camp in the Riverlands, a visit to the 12th century Abbey where Catelyn learns of Edwinís beheading and Robbís bannermen pledged their fealty and an afternoon trek in Tollymore Forest Park where the direwolf pups are found and the Nightís Watch first White Walker encounter. Stark cloaks, swords and helms are available for photo shoots.
