AIFS Program at a Glance - Summer 2018

  • 4- or 9-week summer program in Berlin, Germany
  • Open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors
  • No previous German language study required
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA required
  • Program fee includes tuition, housing, meal card, excursions and cultural activities, day trips, and more. Optional AIFS Flight package available.
  • Earn up to 6 semester credits per session
  • Courses offered in conservation, culture, ecology, geography, German language, history, law, literature, politics, religion, social science and theater studies
  • The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
  • Comprehensive Insurance and assistance package
  • Transcripts issued by Humboldt–Universität zu Berlin. One official copy will be sent to the student’s home institution on completion of the program.
  • Visas

    Visas are not required for U.S. citizens for less than a 3-month stay. Non-U.S. citizens are responsible for obtaining a visa as required.

    My interest in international and cultural education began when I was an undergraduate at Pace University in New York. As a research assistant, my work focused on ethnicity, race, gender and culture, as well as local environmental issues. I continued to pursue my interests in cultural education by studying abroad with AIFS during my junior year in London, England. I loved the experience so much that I decided to finish my degree in England and I graduated from Richmond, The American International University in London with a bachelor's degree. After graduating, I began my professional career in international education as an Admissions Officer with AIFS in November 2006. In 2012, I received my master's degree from Fordham University in New York, New York.
