Program Options

These programs offer students the opportunity to study a range of fashion-related courses in one of the fashion capitals of the world, London. The program fee includes a five-day fashion and culture field trip to Paris. Each trip is customised to complement the London studies by providing further inspiration and learning through a series of guided walks, talks and visits.

Fashion Business Program

A series of courses aimed at business students wanting to know about the mechanics of the fashion industry and fashion students needing to know more about fashion business.

Fashion Media and Communication Program

A series of courses aimed at both fashion and design students wanting to immerse themselves in the contemporary methods of communicating fashion that bridge the gap between creativity and enterprise.

Fashion Product Design Program

A series of courses aimed at fashion design, product and industrial design students wishing to push their creativity and expand their skills to make inspired fashion products for real people.

On each program students will enrol on 3 mandatory courses for a total of 6 credits. Students then select elective courses from the appropriate list for an additional 6 to 10 credits. The program has a maximum of 16 semester credits available.

No AIFS participant is permitted to take a course without receiving a grade. Pass/Fail options are not available.

Study Graphic Design or Fashion Design at world renowned Central Saint Martins in the heart of London. The 14-week semester is tailor-made for study abroad students. Choose Fashion or Graphic Design as your core subject area and study alongside other overseas students, taking part in group work, seminar activities, art critiques, studio assessments, essays, presentations and more.

Fashion Design Program

Central Saint Martins is world renowned for fashion and there is a strong emphasis on the creative process, experimentation and design development. This program is designed to encourage students to explore & expand their creative process through extensive research, experimentation and design development through 2D & 3D.

Graphic Design Program

The program in graphic design has been created for undergraduate students interested in exploring graphic design as a form of cultural investigation and production.

Students on each track take 2 core modules, either Graphic Design 1 (3) and Graphic Design 2 (4), or Fashion Design 1 (3) and Fashion Design 2 (4), plus Cultural Studies (2) and Research for Core Study Areas (1). They then choose up to three 2 credit electives across graphic design and fashion subjects. Each program has a maximum of 16 semester credits available.

No AIFS participant is permitted to take a course without receiving a grade. Pass/Fail options are not available.

University of the Arts London (UAL)

University of the Arts London (UAL) comprises six renowned arts, design, fashion and media Colleges in London, all dating back to the 19th and early 20th centuries: Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, London College of Communication, London College of Fashion, Wimbledon College of Arts. It has a world-class reputation and is ranked number 1 in the world for Fashion and number 2 for Art and Design. It Is Europe’s largest specialist art and design university, with over 19,000 students from more than 130 countries.

The university has been the launchpad for the careers of many creative and cultural leaders, who have gone on to work in and help shape the arts, design, fashion, communication, media and performance worldwide such as designers Jimmy Choo, John Galliano, Sir Terence Conran and artists Lucien Freud, Sir Henry Moore and Sir Anish Kapoor, as well as actors Tom Hardy and Ralph Fiennes.

The specialized teaching staff at UAL is made up of professional artists, designers, critics and theorists, and by studying at Central Saint Martins or London College of Fashion, under their guidance, students will be following in the footsteps of many of the pioneers of Art, Fashion and Design.
