Study Abroad in The Galápagos Islands, Ecuador: Fees

3 Weeks Summer Program $5,995

The Program Fees Include:

  • Tuition—3 semester credits
  • Housing—with local families on San Cristóbal island. Hotel accommodation is provided for the Quito and islandhopping sections of the program
  • Meals—Daily breakfast and dinner with homestay family on San Cristóbal Island, lunch in town or at the site of the academic visits. Breakfast and most lunches are included in the hotel-based sections of the program
  • Flights—round trip flights from Quito to the Galápagos with private round trip transportation from the airport to the hotel or campus
  • Cultural and social activities including a guided tour of Quito’s historic center and the Middle of the World Monument. Activities in the Galápagos include visits to Frigate Bird Hill, El Junco Lake, La Galapaguera – home to the famous giant tortoises, La Loberia Beach to see the sea lion population, snorkeling at Kicker Rock and Puerto Chino to see the bluefooted boobies
  • Galápagos National Park entrance fee—and immigration card plus snorkeling equipment in the Galápagos
  • Private transportation—in Quito and Galápagos
  • Excursions:
  • Welcome reception and orientation—to help you get to know your classmates better, familiarize yourself with the local area and advise you about your stay
  • Comprehensive insurance and assistance package
  • Personalized assistance—by the AIFS Admissions Team in the U.S. to help you prepare for your study abroad experience
  • Pre-departure resources—including an information handbook and online AIFS account to help you manage your application and planning
  • On-site Resident Director and support staff—to help with any questions or advice you may need while in the Galápagos. AIFS operates a 24-hour emergency telephone service so that local staff can always be reached in an emergency situation
  • Official transcript—On completion of your program, a transcript issued by the Universidad San Francisco de Quito will be sent to your home institution

Please note, fee does not include the non-refundable application fee and $250 refundable damage deposit. Students not taking the AIFS Flight Package are responsible for making their way to and from campus in Quito by the scheduled program dates.

AIFS Program with Optional Round-Trip Flights and Airport Transfers

Round-trip flights U.S.-Quito-U.S. and round-trip transfers between the airport and campus overseas.

For your convenience, AIFS will arrange your round-trip airfare including all fuel surcharges, taxes and fees), meet you at the arrival airport(s) and provide transportation to and from the program site on scheduled arrival and departure dates.
