Study Abroad in Prague: Fees

Stay for a year and save $1,000
Students enrolling for a full year (two semesters) at the same campus receive an automatic fee reduction of $1,000 toward their second semester fee.

Program Fee Includes:

Pre-Departure

  • Personalized assistance from site specialists on the AIFS Admissions Team in the U.S. to help you prepare for your study abroad experience, answer questions about the academic program, provide course syllabi and assist with the student visa process
  • Pre-departure resources including online course descriptions, an information handbook and an online AIFS account to help you manage your application and pre-departure materials
  • Student networking resources allow you to connect with other students who will be going on your program, as well as AIFS alumni who can provide first-hand information and advice on what to expect

On-Site

  • Tuition Up to 18 semester credits
  • Housing Student residence hall
  • Meals Meal allowance worth $700 (Fall)/$800 (Spring) to subsidize cost of purchasing meals and groceries
  • Orientation program (including a 2-week Czech Language and Culture course for Spring semester)
  • Excursions and day trips 2-day excursion to Moravia and day trips to places like Plzen, Kutna Hora or Terezin
  • Transportation pass for use on Prague’s public transportation system of Metro, buses and trams
  • Czech SIM card with credit to get you started and/or basic call/text phone
  • Cultural and social activities Walking tours, visits to the opera, galleries and concerts and sporting events
  • On-Site Resident Director to help with any questions or advice you may need throughout the program
  • Orientation workshops to help you get to know your classmates better, familiarize you with the local area, advise you about living in Prague and help you adjust to the culture
  • Volunteer opportunities such as working with Czech NGOs within the local community or teaching English
  • AIFS Office provides study area, computer lab, Wi-Fi and other resources
  • Libraries in addition to having use of the libraries at Charles University students have privileges at the State Library and at the Institute of International Relations
  • Comprehensive insurance and assistance package
  • 24-hour emergency telephone service allows you to reach AIFS staff at any time in an urgent situation

Upon Return

  • Official transcript issued by Charles University. One official copy will be sent to the student’s home institution on completion of the program
  • Re-entry materials and support upon return to the U.S. to help you make the transition back to life after your study abroad experience
  • Alumni network and career development opportunities on the AIFS Alumni Advocate and AIFS Alumni Ambassador Programs

Optional Components

Please note fee does not include the refundable $95 application fee. Students not selecting the AIFS Flight Package are responsible for arranging their own flights according to the most up-to-date itinerary.

AIFS Program with Optional Round-Trip Flights and Airport Transfers

For your convenience, AIFS will arrange your round-trip airfare (including all fuel surcharges, taxes and fees), meet you at the arrival airport(s) and provide transportation to and from the program site on scheduled arrival and departure dates.

Please note that the stopover in London on the way to campus has been canceled. Students choosing the AIFS Optional Transportation Package will fly directly to the arrival city listed on the itinerary and receive a credit of $420 toward their final transportation package fee.
