Promote Study Abroad on Your Campus

Currently less than 10% of the US college population studies abroad, which is shockingly low. As an alum, you know how impactful spending time overseas is and we hope you will share your experience with others. For those who are still on-campus, there are several ways to do that:

Help at a study abroad fair

Fairs are offered at many schools in the fall from August to November and in spring semester from January to April. The fairs are anywhere from 2-5 hours long, and you can help for a portion of that time or the full event. Students typically have questions on what your experience was like, and you would be joined by an AIFS representative for the event. If you would like to help, simply submit your information here and we will be in touch to confirm with more details on when and where the event will take place.

Be an Alumni Advocate

This program is perfect for those who want to volunteer according to their own schedule and start at any point in the year. Participants receive resources on how to effectively communicate their stories to other students as well as how to market their time abroad in the job search. For more information and to sign up, visit the Alumni Advocate page.

Apply for the Alumni Ambassador Program

Do you want to share your study abroad experiences with other students either on campus or online? Do you want to do more? The AIFS Alumni Ambassador program is a professional development and leadership program designed to allow a limited number of exceptional AIFS alumni the opportunity to promote studying abroad on their campus, develop skills relevant to their career aspirations, and share their experience with interested students. Applications open each year in mid-March for the following academic year. To learn more and apply, visit the Alumni Ambassador page and check out the current Ambassadors.

Share Your Story

Can we quote you?

You can make a difference for prospective students! We're looking for quotes for next year's AIFS catalogs. You can talk about anything; whether it's about a particular part of the program or the experience as a whole, we want to hear it. Please send us your thoughts here!

Write a review article!

Students interested in going abroad often want to hear firsthand what your experience was like. One of the easiest ways to share your experience with a larger audience is to complete a review of your program. This is an excellent opportunity for you to reflect on your experience and can be used as a writing sample when applying for jobs or grad school.
