Contest open to all AIFS participants, past and present.
Voting will close on the day stated on the competition.
After the closing date, one image/video will be named as the winner in each category, based on the editor's choice.
We reserve the right, at our discretion, to disqualify or discount any entrant, image, video or vote connected to votes cast by unfair means.
Winners will be contacted.
Competition open to all AIFS participants, past and present, other than employees of AIFS.
There is no limit to the number of images/videos one person can submit but only one prize will be awarded per student regardless of how many images or videos are used.
Each image/video can only be entered once. Duplicates will be removed.
The image/video must have been created while studying abroad with AIFS and must be your original photo or video. All photos and videos must be in good taste.
Images may be used at any time in other AIFS Study Abroad marketing materials, including but not limited to: catalogs, brochures, flyers, posters, website, and social media. Payment will only be awarded for category-winning photos. Videos may be used at any time in other AIFS Study Abroad marketing campaigns, including but not limited to web, social media and emails.
Images and videos will not be returned and will become the property of AIFS.
You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of all images and videos entered.
Source material or proof of permission to use must be made available on request by AIFS.
AIFS does not accept any liability for the publication of unlawfully reproduced images.
Computer-generated or computer-altered images and videos will not be accepted. Artwork and illustrations will not be accepted.
To enter the photo contest, send image(s) that meet the criteria to
by the closing date specified within the contest, using “AIFS Photo Contest” in the subject line. All images must be accompanied by:
Your full name
Mailing address, phone number and e-mail address
Program date and location (ex: London Fall 2015)
Home school and state
A brief description of your photo — please be as specific as possible (Big Ben in London, The Colosseum in Rome, etc.)
Instagram handle (aka your username aka @______)
To enter the video contest, send video(s) that meet the criteria to
by the closing date specified within the contest, using AIFS Video Contest” in the subject line. You can also use Dropbox, Google Drive, YouTube or any other secure video sharing site to send the link to your video.
Each image should be a minimum of 300dpi and ideally at least 6MB in file size and/or at least 1050x1500 pixels.
The American Institute For Foreign Study takes no responsibility for corrupted or late entries.
By entering your image/video, you grant AIFS the non-exclusive right to reproduce it for any purpose at any time in any media with attribution.
The winners consent to the use of their image, video, name and/or photograph in any publicity carried out by AIFS, without further compensation.
AIFS’ decision on all matters relating to the competition is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
AIFS reserves the right to withhold prizes if, in the opinion of the judges, the quality of entries falls below the standard required.
