Wednesday, July 1 Arrive in London. Transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free.
Thursday, July 2 Half day sightseeing tour with a professional guide who will point out some of London’s most famous landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London.
Friday, July 3 Transfer to airport for flight to Madrid.
Includes hotel, breakfasts, airport transfers, sightseeing tour and local guide. Lunch and dinner are not included.
Overnight visit to Madrid (Included in fee)
Friday, July 3 Morning flight from London to Madrid. Transfer to centrally located hotel. Free time to explore the city. Overnight in Madrid.
Saturday, July 4 Sightseeing tour of the city center including the Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and the Paseo de la Castellana. Afternoon transfer by private bus to Salamanca.
Day visit to Segovia (Included in fee)
Sunday, July 12 Morning drive through the Spanish countryside to Segovia. Walk through the narrow cobblestone streets to the 2,000-year-old Roman aqueduct, a marvel of Roman engineering and one of the best-preserved aqueducts in all of Europe. Enjoy breathtaking views of this ancient city from the towers of the fairytale castle “El Alcazar.” City walking-tour includes visits to the Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral. Early evening return to Salamanca.

Optional excursion to Lisbon, Portugal ($475, code #5313)
Friday, July 17 Afternoon departure for Lisbon. Free evening to explore Lisbon’s lively nightlife. Overnight in Lisbon.
Saturday, July 18 Visit the sights of Lisbon with a local guide. View the Monument of the Discoverers, Alfama district, Rossio Square, St. George’s Castle and Jeronimos Monastery. Afternoon free to wander the cobbled alleys and squares of old Lisbon. Overnight in Lisbon.
Sunday, July 19 Morning excursion to the Portuguese coast, visiting Estoril and the fishing village of Cascais. Continue on to the hillside town of Sintra for shopping and sightseeing. Return to Salamanca.
Fee includes transportation, accommodations, breakfast, sightseeing and entrances as indicated. Students must enroll and pay for this excursion by April 15. Students who apply after the deadline may enroll subject to availability. If a minimum enrollment of 15 is not achieved, the tour may be cancelled. Once paid for in the U.S., optional excursions are non-refundable.
Day visit to Peña de Francia (Included in 6-week fee)
Sunday, August 9 Visit the Peña de Francia (1 hour from Salamanca), a peaceful Sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of the Peña de Francia on a mountain peak in the Sierra de Francia. The climb up the mountain is stunning and the views of the green and peaceful valleys are superb. Afterwards, students visit the quaint village of La Alberca in the valley below, one of the most beautiful pueblos in Spain and the first to be declared a “National Monument” in 1940. Early evening return to Salamanca.
Visit includes transportation, entrance fees and services of a guide.
