Study Abroad in Granada: Housing & Meals

Live in a carefully selected Spanish home or in a student residence.

Homestay

Most students find that the homestay experience is the most rewarding part of their time abroad. It is the best way to learn Spanish, get involved in the culture and integrate into the local community. Patience, respect and an open mind are essential to success. You have three meals a day, seven days per week with your hosts. Laundry is included.

Student Residence

The student residence is located a short walk from the AIFS office and the Centro de Lenguas Modernas (University building). The residence is also home to Spanish and other foreign students. You will have three meals a day in the residence Monday to Saturday. Laundry is included. Rooms are based on double occupancy with bathrooms and are subject to availability. Requests for a particular roommate are usually honored depending on availability. Since the residence is more expensive than a homestay, students who choose this option must pay a supplement of $220 for fall semester or $270 for spring semester before departure from the U.S.

Please note: After the program begins, you may not switch from student residence to host family or vice versa. AIFS always arranges the best accommodation available for students. Changes in housing will be considered only in the event of health and safety issues. Students are responsible for their own housing and meals during the semester break.
