ˇHola! I was a student on the first AIFS program at the University of Granada in 1988-89. After graduating from Marymount College in New York with a major in Spanish education, I returned to Granada to work for the AIFS program and in 1994 I married a native Granadino I met during my study abroad year!
My job is to help facilitate your immersion into the Spanish language and culture; ensuring your study abroad is a fun and safe learning experience. I love watching how students change throughout the semester. Upon arrival, you will continually ask questions. By the end of the semester you will be independent, confident and knowledgeable citizens of the world- and teaching me things I didn’t know! The AIFS office is located in “Puerta Real," the very center of Granada. It is a 5-minute walk from the University building. Drop by and tell me about something wonderful you have discovered in my favorite city!
The Resident Director provides academic advice, introduces you to the community and handles communication with the University.
Special features of the AIFS program:
The AIFS program includes a three day visit to London, four day visit to Madrid and Castile, day trips to Costa del Sol, Seville, Cordoba and Gibraltar, plus an optional trip to Morocco. Students live with Spanish families or in a student residence in the center of the city.
