Inca Culture

Inca Culture
Course Code and Credits: Cultural History 202 (3)
Course Title: Inca Art and Culture (in English)
Course Description:
This course will cover all aspects of Inca culture. Morning classes during the last 2 weeks of the program will include an examination of the following areas of Inca civilization: political organization and cosmovision, the Inca highway system, agricultural techniques, religion and architecture. This will be complemented by a number of afternoon visits to major Inca sites in the area, including a visit to Machu Picchu. 40 classroom hours plus a minimum of 20 practical training hours with on-site visits.

Spanish Language

Course Code and Credits: Spanish 101 (3)
Course Title: Elementary Spanish
Course Description:
This course is open to students with no Spanish background or only one semester of Spanish. It covers functional use of the language as well as grammar, vocabulary and cultural expression. Morning classes are supplemented by afternoon visits during which students have the opportunity to practice their Spanish. This class meets for 60 hours total.

Course Title: Intermediate Spanish
Course Description:
Spanish language covering overall communication skills, verb tenses, cultural themes and vocabulary is the focus of morning classes for the first 2 weeks of the program. Classes are supplemented by afternoon visits during which students have the opportunity to practise their Spanish. Prerequisites: 2 semesters of college Spanish. This class meets for 60 hours total.
