Study Abroad in Rome: Cultural Excursions
London, England (3 days)

Begin your semester with a 3-day visit to London en route to Rome. This will allow you to relax, recover from jet lag and get to know your fellow classmates while touring Englandís capital. Take a sightseeing tour with a professional guide who will point out some of Londonís most famous landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London. Have time to explore the city on your own where you can take in the gorgeous parks and gardens, see a play in the West End or shop for vintage clothes at Camden Market.
Includes accommodations, breakfast, entrance fees and sightseeing as indicated. Lunch and dinner are not included.

This trip is part of the coursework for course ARH 273 Introduction to Italian Art
Visit Pompeiiís archaeological sites with a professional guide. Stay overnight in Vico Equense, a small village overlooking the Sorrento coast. The following day, head to the beautiful Reggia di Caserta, the royal palace and its park. Alternatively, if weather permits, depart by ferry to Capri, a charming island with small squares, little white houses and picturesque alleyways.
On the final day, visit Mount Vesuvius (or Capodimonte Museum in the event of bad weather to see masterpieces by Botticelli and Caravaggio) and the National Archaeological Museum.

This trip is part of the coursework for course ARH 273 Introduction to Italian Art.
Morning departure by bus to Venice. See the monuments with an art professor, including St. Markís Square, St. Markís Cathedral and the Dogesí Palace. On the final day, visit the Accademia Museum, Santa Maria dei Frari and San Rocco churches, as well as other places of interest. On the final day, enjoy free time or take an optional visit to the Guggenheim Museum.
