3-day visit to London (Included in fee)
Students have the opportunity to visit London, recover from jet-lag and meet fellow AIFS students.
Wednesday, September 8 or January 26 Morning arrival in London. Rest of the day free for rest and relaxation. Overnight in London.
Thursday, September 9 or January 27 Morning sightseeing with a professional guide who will point out some of London's most famous landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London. Afternoon and evening free. Overnight in London.
Friday, September 10 or January 28 Transfer to airport for flight to Pisa or Rome. Transfer to Florence for orientation.
Includes accommodations, breakfast, entrance fees and sightseeing as indicated. Lunch and dinner are not included. Dates and itinerary are subject to change.
3-day visit to Venice (Included in fee)
This trip is part of the coursework for orientation course ARH 273 Introduction to Italian Art.
Friday, September 17 or February 4 Morning departure by bus to Venice. Afternoon visit to the monuments of Venice with an art professor, including St. Mark's Square, St. Mark's Cathedral and the Doges' Palace. Overnight in Venice.
Saturday, September 18 or February 5 Morning visit to the Accademia Museum. Afternoon visit to Santa Maria dei Frari and San Rocco churches, as well as other places of interest. Overnight in Venice.
Sunday, September 19 or February 6 Morning free or optional visit to the Guggenheim Museum. Afternoon return via bus to Florence.

3-day visit to Naples and Pompeii (Included in fee)
Friday, October 8 or March 18 Morning departure by bus to Pompeii. Visit its archaeological sites with a professional guide. Overnight in Vico Equense, a small village overlooking the Sorrento coast.
Saturday, October 9 or March 19 Morning visit to Mount Vesuvius. Afternoon visit to the Capodimonte Museum to see masterpieces by Botticelli and Caravaggio or the National Archaeological Museum. Take a walking tour through the ancient city from the Norman Castel dell'Ovo (13th century) to the Maschio Angioino (13th to 15th century).
Sunday, October 10 or March 20 Morning departure by bus to visit the beautiful Reggia di Caserta, the royal palace and its park. Alternatively, if weather permits, morning departure by ferry to Capri, a charming island with small squares, little white houses and picturesque alleyways. Return to Naples and depart by bus for Rome.
