Study Abroad in Rome: Overview
Program at a glance
- Academic year, fall or spring semester (summer session also available)
- Open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors
- 2.5 minimum GPA required
- Program fee includes tuition, housing, some meals, London stopover, orientation in Florence, excursions and cultural activities, airfare if selected, trips to Venice and Naples, and more
- Courses taught in English in art history, communications, economics, history, international relations, literature, marketing, philosophy, political science and religion.
- Internships available in international business and social science.
- No previous Italian study required
- Mandatory Italian language study at Eurocentres language school during the 3-week orientation in Florence. In addition, all students are required to take an Italian language course during the semester
- The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
- Student visa must be obtained from an Italian consulate before departure
- Transcripts issued by Richmond, The American International University in London, a U.S.-accredited university. Transfer of credits easily arranged
Application and scholarship deadlines
- Applications for the academic year or fall semester will be accepted on a space available basis. Spring semester applications must be postmarked by October 15.
- AIFS Study Abroad Scholarships available. The scholarship application deadlines are April 15 for academic year or fall semester; October 1 for spring semester.
