What interns are saying:
"I understand that many people with goals of having a specific position at a specific company will be advised to work from the bottom up and learn the company’s strategy. As I have learned working at a large corporation headquarters, Braccialini. I would love to have a bachelor’s in fashion merchandising after I graduate. I want to be able to create the mood, look, and feel of a retail company, consistent with the store and merchandise image as well as branding. I want to be able to attract consumer attention so they ultimately purchase the merchandise that I have visually displayed. After advertising for Braccialini, I realize it is good experience for my future job. I’m using creativity as well as my fashion background on how the bags are constructed. "
– Kelsey Cameron, Internship with BRACCIALINI HANDBAGS
"I really appreciated all of the freedom I was given creatively, and I feel that this enabled me to be able to complete the tasks to the best of my ability. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the Adobe Photoshop work and I am glad that the work that I completed will actually be used for something in the future and will not just be kept stored away. It makes me feel honored that they were pleased with my work enough for it to be a part of the upcoming advertising and marketing campaign....One of the best parts of this whole experience is the fact that I was able to learn and interact with Italians in a completely different environment that I would otherwise never been able to. I was completely engrossed in the culture and the language every day, and that is something that I was really looking for out of this experience. I feel that my language skills are stronger, as well as my appreciation and understanding of the Italian business world.
"
– Kelly Morrone, Internship with CADINI (Classical Men Fashion)
"When I first decided I wanted to apply for the internship program instead of the normal classes, I knew I was going to get an experience of a lifetime. From previous internship experience I had a base knowledge of what unpaid internships were like. These types of internships were meant to gain experience, create contacts, and build resumes…So, when I got my internship with Pirene, I was not expecting to plan my own events or work side by side with Laura Gucci. As a marketing major. there are many opportunities in the business industry. I had done public relations, but never event planning, which is why Pirene was of such interest. ….I was able to see the customer relation’s aspect of an event planning company as well as the background planning and advertising. One aspect that I was not expecting was all the history I learned from these events since Florence is so rich with history and proud of it. I learned so many great and interesting things that have made me a more knowledge person. "
– Maria Kennedy , Internship with PIRENE (Event Planning)
