Internships in Florence: Housing & Meals
Housing
During your time in Florence, you will live in an Italian home
or a student apartment. Housing is arranged on the basis of
housing form requests. Students will find out about their housing
placement during the orientation. Typical accommodations
might be with an Italian host family in an apartment (a single
person or retired couple) in a residential section of Florence or
a spacious apartment shared with up to eight other students.
If in an apartment, approximately 290 euros should be paid
directly to the landlord in cash upon arrival as a deposit for
utilities. Phones are not provided. Local cell phones can be
purchased for a reasonable price and are much cheaper to use
than a U.S. cell phone.
Meals
You will receive restaurant vouchers for 10 meals per week (five breakfasts plus five dinners per week except during trips). Vouchers can also be used in supermarkets, so students sharing apartments may pool resources to cook for themselves. Housing is located within a 30-minute commute of the Study Center.
