Study Abroad in Florence: Overview

Program at a glance

• 4 week summer study abroad in Florence, Italy
• Open to high school class of 2008, college freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors
• No previous Italian language study required
• Program fee includes tuition, housing, meals, London stopover, excursions and cultural activities, airfare if selected, optional trips to Venice and Rome, and more
• Earn up to 6 semester credits
• Courses include Italian language, studio art, art history, history, literature, music and sociology
• The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
• Transcripts issued by Richmond, The American International University in London, a U.S.-accredited university

Application and scholarship deadlines

• Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by April 1, 2008. Applications received postmarked after this date are subject to a $200 late fee.
• AIFS Study Abroad Scholarships available. The scholarship deadline is March 1, 2008.
