Study Abroad in Limerick: Travel

3-day London stopover (Included in fee)

Students have the great opportunity to spend an action-packed weekend in London, England. Includes hotel, breakfasts, airport transfers, sightseeing tour and local guide. Lunch and dinner are not included.

Friday, November 16 or March 28 Afternoon flight from Shannon to London. Transfer to a centrally-located hotel. Free evening to sample London's fabulous nightlife.

Saturday, November 17 or March 29 Morning sightseeing tour with a professional guide who will point out some of London's most famous landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London. Afternoon and evening free to explore London on your own.

Sunday, November 18 or March 30 Morning and afternoon free to explore the sights. Early evening transfer to the airport for flight to Shannon.Transfer to Limerick.

Excursions within Ireland

Students can travel easily by rail and bus throughout Ireland from Limerick. Dublin, Galway and Cork are each about two hours away. Shannon airport is 16 miles from Limerick, making flights to other European cities highly accessible.

The University of Limerick also arranges a weekend trip for study abroad students within the West of Ireland (in the spring semester) and a day trip to Dublin.

Day visit to Killaloe Activity Center (Included in fee)

Saturday, September 29 Students will take part in many outdoor activities at the University of Limerick's Activity Center. ULAC is located only two miles from the picturesque town of Killaloe in East Clare. It is situated on the sheltered shores of Lough Derg where we have access to one of Irelands cleanest and friendliest inland waterways. Rising from the lake the wooded hillsides of crag hill provide a perfect environment for many of our land-based activities. Sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, dragon boating, orienteering and archery are some activities to name but a few.

Transportation, lunch, sightseeing and entrance fees are included.

Day visit to Lahinch (Included in fee)

Saturday, March 15 Students will visit the seaside town of Lahinch and the Cliffs of Moher. Cultural events such as historical tours and Irish set dancing are also available.
