Study Abroad in Limerick: Housing & Meals

The University has four “student villages,” which are a 10-15 minute walk from main classroom buildings. International students live in townhouses, each housing eight. One or two American students live with six or seven Irish students or other international students to enable integration into the social life of the full-time Irish students. Students have single rooms and share a kitchen, living room and bathroom facilities.

Each townhouse has cable TV, and each room links to the main University computer network, allowing students to use their own PCs (fee for connection). Students studying for the 2007-08 full academic year can stay in the University accommodations over the Christmas holidays at no extra charge. They are, however, responsible for their own meals during this period.

Students are provided with an allowance for one meal per day from Monday to Friday. This is a subsidy and will not cover the cost of meals in expensive restaurants. There are 10 University restaurants and cafeterias on campus, or students can cook at home with roommates and friends.
