Study Abroad in Limerick: Overview

Program at a glance

  • 3- or 6-week summer program in Limerick, Ireland
  • Open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors (high school graduates and freshmen considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA required
  • Program fee includes tuition, housing, meals, excursions and cultural activities, and more. Optional AIFS Flight package available.
  • Students can earn 3 credits in 3 weeks on the Irish Culture Program or the new Business Program; 4.5 credits in 3 weeks through the Engineering Program or stay in Limerick for 6 weeks and earn 6 credits on the innovative Urban Laboratory Architecture Program.
  • Courses offered in architecture, art history, business, creative writing, cultural studies , engineering, film, law, literature, social science Irish Culture Program plus programs in Business, Engineering and Architecture
  • The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
  • Transcripts issued by the University of Limerick

I joined the AIFS team in March 2008 and became an Admissions Officer in 2014. Prior to that, I was the AIFS Alumni Relations Coordinator, and in this role I trained and worked with the AIFS Alumni Ambassadors, as well as organized alumni-related events and collaborated with the entire AIFS alumni network to help promote and market AIFS programs to college students. I enjoy working with AIFS students as an Admissions Officer, as it allows me to relive my international experiences. I have a passion for cultural integration and enjoy traveling whenever possible!
