Study Abroad in Hyderabad: Student Life
Visas—Very Important!
Students must apply for a visa with the nearest Indian embassy
or consulate as soon as they are accepted on the AIFS
program. Upon acceptance AIFS will provide detailed instructions
and the necessary official documents about the academic
program and the semester in Hyderabad; however, students
must contact the Indian embassy or consulate directly for the
appropriate visa forms.
Transportation
Most students travel to and from lectures
by bicycle. The Study in India Program provides bicycles to
students for the duration of the semester. Please note that you
must pay a refundable deposit, which is returned at the end of
the semester.
Volunteering
Volunteer opportunities with local organizations
are available in Hyderabad. Visits to Fortune 500 companies
and non-profit organizations based in the area can be arranged
upon request. More information about this will be given on
arrival in Hyderabad.
