Study Abroad in Berlin: Beyond the Classroom
Learning does not begin or end in the classroom. To help you get a true taste of German culture, a wealth of cultural activities and excursions are included in your program fee.
Past activities have included:
- Visits to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Museum Island in Berlin and the palaces and gardens of Potsdam
- Visit to the Nazi concentration camp “Sachsenhausen” that was used to imprison opponents and victims of the Third Reich
- Day trip to Spree forest, the “Venice of Brandenburg”: an impressive area formed in the Ice Age when the river Spree was transformed into a labyrinth of almost 1,000 km of small rivers.
- Boat trip
- Visit to a brewery
- Visit to the outdoor museum “Topography of Terror”
- Evening at an open-air theater
- Picnic
- Social activities with other summer school students
Please note that students may be asked to pay a small additional fee for some of the activities above.
