Shakespeare's Globe Education Program: Fulbright Scholars

Each year the U.S.-U.K. Fulbright Commission offers special Summer Institutes which give U.S. undergraduates the opportunity to attend an academic program at a highly regarded U.K. University. The Fulbright Commission first selected the AIFS Shakespeare's Globe program as one of their Summer Institutes in Summer 2012 and has again awarded the program this distinction for the next three summers.

College freshmen and sophomores can apply for a Fulbright award to attend this program. The award will cover the cost of airfare, tuition and fees, housing, and meals.

Learn more about the Fulbright Award and the application process.

Students applying for the Fulbright award submit their application materials directly to the Fulbright Commission by March 11th, 2013.

Please note that Fulbright award recipients will be notified in May. In order to ensure your ability to attend the Shakespeare's Globe program in the case that you are not a Fulbright award recipient, we recommend that Fulbright applicants also submit a program application through AIFS. Billing will be adjusted for award recipients.

Commenting on the Summer Institute, Michael Scott-Kline, Director of the Fulbright Program, said:

“We’re delighted that more American students will have the opportunity to experience life in our exciting capital city. The American Institute for Foreign Study Summer Institute at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre will offer everything that we would hope for in a Fulbright exchange: a stimulating academic component, a rich and immersive cultural experience and an enthusiastic host.”
