Study Abroad in London: Housing and Meals
Students are housed in double and triple rooms in Richmond University residence halls or approved satellite buildings on the Kensington campus. Single rooms are available on a limited basis for an additional fee of $500 per session. Single room fees must be paid to AIFS before departure from the U.S. The University operates a non-smoking policy in all its residences. Since housing is usually in buildings not originally designed to be dormitories, rooms and showers in the older buildings are smaller than Americans may be used to.
AIFS always arranges the best accommodation available for students. Changes in housing will be considered only in the event of health and safety issues.
Students will receive a meal allowance of £12 per day Monday through Friday to subsidize breakfast and dinner. The meal allowance is provided in the form of a debit card for use in local grocery stores and restaurants. This is a subsidy and will not cover the cost of meals in expensive restaurants.
Visit Richmond's website for photos and more housing details.
If you are traveling on an AIFS Partnerships faculty-led program through your home institution, see the AIFS Partnerships website.
