Study Abroad in Prague: Overview

Program at a glance

  • Academic year, fall or spring semester, (summer session also available)
  • Open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors
  • 2.5 minimum GPA required
  • Program fee includes tuition, housing, meal allowance, London stopover, excursions and cultural activities, airfare if selected, trips to Kraków and Vienna, and more
  • Courses taught in English in art history, economics, film studies, history, literature, music, political science, psychology, religion, sociology and theater, plus Czech language
  • Czech language study during the semester is optional
  • 2-week orientation and intensive Czech language preparation for three semester credits
  • NEW! Volunteer opportunities at Lobkowicz Palace and Nelahozeves Castle
  • The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
  • Transcripts issued by Charles University
  • Student visa must be obtained from a Czech embassy or consulate prior to departure from U.S.

Application and scholarship deadlines

  • Applications for the academic year or fall semester will be accepted on a space available basis. Spring semester applications must be postmarked by October 1.
  • AIFS Study Abroad Scholarships available. The scholarship application deadlines are April 15 for academic year or fall semester; October 1 for spring semester.
