Marketa is a Czech-American with dual nationality. She was born in Czechoslovakia and in 1979 emigrated with her family to the U.S. where she attended school. She received her BA in Psychology from Ohio State University in 1995 and her MA in Art Education from Ohio University in 1999, plus an international teaching certificate from the College of New Jersey in 2002. Marketa has taught art at elementary, secondary and university levels. She has also taught English as a foreign language at Charles University in Prague. She makes ceramics and jewelry at a professional level. She returned to Prague in 1999.

The Resident Director provides academic advice, introduces you to the community and handles communication with the University.
