Study Abroad in Barcelona: Overview

Program at a glance

• 4 or 6 week summer study abroad in Barcelona, Spain
• Open to sophomores, juniors and seniors
• 2.7 minimum GPA required
• No previous Spanish language study required
• Program fee includes tution, housing, meal allowance, London visit, excursions and cultural activities, day trips to Figueras and Gerona, airfare if selected, and more
• 4-week students earn up to 7 credits, 6-week students earn up to 9 credits
• Courses in English in business, communications, history,
  politics, religious studies and sociology, and in Spanish in art history and literature.
• The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
• Visa not required for U.S. citizens for less than a 3-month stay
• Transcripts issued by Pompeu Fabra University

Application and scholarship deadlines

• Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by March 15, 2009. Applications received postmarked after this date are subject to a $200 late fee.
• AIFS Study Abroad Scholarships available. The scholarship deadline is March 1, 2009.
