Study Abroad in China: Overview
Program at a glance
- 4-week introduction to developments in Chinese culture for students of history, social science and business
- Study in Beijing (7 nights), Xian (1 night), Nanjing (7 nights), Hangzhou (3 nights), Shanghai (8 nights)
- Open to high school graduates, college freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors
- No previous Chinese language study required
- Program fee includes tuition, housing, some meals, excursions and cultural activities, airfare if selected, and more
- Earn up to 6 semester credits
- Courses taught by U.S. faculty in cooperation with guest lecturers at Beijing Language and Culture University, Nanjing University and Shanghai International Studies University
- Transcripts issued by Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) for Culture and Change In Chinese Society and by Nanjing University for Economic, Legal and Business Development in Contemporary China
- Visa required at student expense. Students are responsible for obtaining their own visa
Application and scholarship deadlines
- Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by March 15, 2009. Applications received after this date are subject to a $200 late fee.
- AIFS Study Abroad Scholarships available. The scholarship deadline is March 1, 2009.
