Friday, June 20 Arrive in Shanghai and transfer to student hotel.

Saturday, June 21 to Monday, June 23 3-day orientation and cultural familiarization period in Shanghai (literally meaning “above the sea”), a bustling financial and trade center rapidly “westernizing.” Your Tour Manager will take you to visit Shanghai’s famous sites including The Yu Gardens, The Bund, Nanjing Road, the Oriental Pearl T.V. Tower and the Pudong Development Zone. Welcome lunch on Saturday included.

Tuesday, June 24 Morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Beijing.

2-day visit to Xian (Included in fee)

Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 13 Depart Beijing late evening by train for excursion to Xian, former capital of the Chinese Empire for almost a thousand years, one of the world’s great metropolises and one of China’s oldest settlements. For two hundred years it was at the center of a cultural and political renaissance that many historians consider to be China’s golden age.

Arriving early Saturday morning, the tour will include, over the course of two days, welcome lunch, the Terra-Cotta Warriors, Shaanxi Museum, City Wall, First Emperor Qin Shi Huang Tomb, Big Goose Pagoda and Calligraphy Tomb Forest. Spend Saturday night in Xian at student hotel. Depart late Sunday evening to return to Beijing by train for early Monday morning.
