Study Abroad in São Paulo: Overview

Program at a glance

• 5-week summer study abroad in São Paulo, Brazil
• Open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 required
• Program fee includes tuition, housing, a meal plan, excursions and cultural activities, trips to Guarujá and São Roque , airfare if selected, and more
• Optional excursion to Rio de Janeiro
• Earn up to 7 semester credits
• No previous Portuguese language study required; however, students must take a Portuguese language class plus a choice of three electives offered in English
• The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
• Transcripts are issued by Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado

Application and scholarship deadlines

• Applications must be submitted by March 15th, 2010. Applications received after the posted deadline are subject to an additional $200 late fee.
• AIFS Study Abroad Scholarships available. The scholarship deadline is March 1, 2010.
