Study Abroad in Sydney & Fiji: Program Fees

Fees include:

  • Tuition (includes up to 19 semester credits, subject to course selection, including Pacific Studies in Fiji)
  • 10-day Pacific Studies Program at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji (spring only)
  • Housing in en-suite single rooms with shared kitchen and living area facilities in Macquarie University Village. Also includes a meal allowance to subsidize the purchase of meals.
  • Cultural activities such as a performance at Sydney Opera House, weekend trips and sporting events
  • Trip to the Great Barrier Reef (optional for the spring semester, with a supplement of $695)
  • Public transportation pass for bus and train
  • Services of a pre-departure Student Advisory Center and an on-site Resident Director
  • Pre-departure handbook
  • Phone card on arrival to call the U.S.
  • Round trip airfare if that option is selected

Fees with airfare include round trip airfare from selected departure city and transfers to and from campus; they do not include the non-refundable application fee of $95, $475 insurance/assistance package fee, $250 damage deposit and government taxes and airline/airport-related fees and fuel surcharges, currently estimated at $330, but subject to possible increase or decrease depending on the level of charges subsequently imposed from these sources. Transfers to and from campus are included for students who have booked their flights with AIFS, but only on the scheduled arrival/departure dates and from the local airport.

If students have made their own flight arrangements, the International Office at Macquarie will pick them up on arrival (if notified in advance), and the AIFS Coordinator will provide them with funds to pay for the return to the airport, but only on the scheduled arrival/departure dates and from the local airport.
