Study Abroad in Buenos Aires: Student LifeOrientationGeneral orientation the first weekend precedes intensive Spanish instruction (more than 60 hours during four weeks), which prepares students for their time in Argentina. Further orientation is built into the last week of that course, including lectures, an immersion program with locals, extracurricular activities (barbecue, sport outing, Tango lessons, etc.), registration and details about the semester program including advising and meeting with faculty of the Latin American Studies Program. The Resident Director organizes activities to further enhance introduction to the city.ActivitiesStudents find many activities in and around Buenos Aires: art museums, cathedrals and theaters, plus opera, jazz, rock and classical concerts. Discos and cafés are a way of life for Argentine students. The Resident Director organizes visits outside the city. |
