How Should my Institution Use the AIFS International Program Development
Grant?
Disposition of the grant is left to the administration of the
participating university. However, AIFS strongly recommends the funds
be used in these areas:
- Study abroad scholarships
YOU determine the eligibility criteria
and handle the selection process.
Scholarships could be partial or full, for American students to study
on AIFS or other study abroad programs. These can be awarded on
a "need" basis or for outstanding academic achievements.
- Study
abroad office general funds
Create or expand your study abroad
library, fund a study/travel fair, increase advising services, or update
your office equipment for staff or student use.
- Rebates for students
participating in AIFS programs
By utilizing your
grant, you can reduce each student's overseas cost by hundreds of dollars.
- Additional
site reviews to AIFS campuses
- Hiring a returning intern
